SHIHAD: Loud Forever with Tom Larkin

Forged in the fires of 1988’s thrash metal scene, Wellington’s SHIHAD quickly evolved into one of Australia’s most beloved bands. SHIHAD (Jon Toogood, Karl Kippenberger, Phil Knight, Tom Larkin) has sold over a quarter of a million records, released ten studio albums, received multiple ARIA nominations, won countless Aotearoa Music Awards and toured endlessly through the world’s most loved clubs, festivals, and arenas. Touring with metal icons like Faith No More, Tool, Back Sabbath, Motorhead and one of their biggest early influences, AC/DC. Live is where SHIHAD is truly an oversized presence.

Late last year, Wellington’s globally beloved band SHIHAD announced they were calling it a day on their 37-year-long career with a final tour of Australia. Fans responded, snapping up tickets in record time, with shows in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney selling out.
To ease the pain of those who missed out, SHIHAD are thrilled to announce second shows in Perth and Melbourne where they will play their iconic 1999 album, ‘The General Electric’ in full. And Brisbane, where they will play 2002’s epic opus ‘Pacifier’.

The Everblack Podcast sat down with Tom Larkin from Shihad to discuss their massive Loud Forever Final Tour, the impact of their music over the last 37 years, sharing the stage with legends like Black Sabbath, Metallica, and AC/DC, and what this final run means for both the band and their fans.

The upcoming LOUD FOREVER tour offers both the band and its nation of fans the opportunity of a fittingly loud and raucous farewell.
