Black Rheno Release New Single “Chopping Heads Wearing Fancy Threads” Plus Tour Dates

When it comes to chopping heads wearing fancy threads, there really is no other band that can do it quite like Black Rheno. Well-known for creating all-out heavy metal parties with their sludge-infused blend of groove, grind, and stoner riffs, their newest single, “Chopping Heads Wearing Fancy Threads,” is a perfect example of Australian sludge-punk fury at its finest.

This March/April, the guys are taking their groove-infused wrecking ball of a live show on the road. Their first stop has fast become one of Perth’s absolute must-do heavy rock festivals: Spliffs & Riffs Fest on March 2nd. Featuring an absolutely killer bill this year with Sweden’s Greenleaf headlining the event, the festival boasts an all-star line-up of Australian bands such as Smoke Witch, Khan, Iron Blanket, Yomi Ship, Mayatrix & The Psychics… the list goes on!

The tour then heads back east with a string of NSW regional shows, where Black Rheno will hit spots that heavy bands don’t often reach, such as Orange and Dubbo. Katoomba, Port Macquarie, and the Central Coast will also cop a dose before capping things off with a hometown show in Sydney.

Milla from Black Rheno shared: “Yeah, we’ve been itching to get back over the west for years now. We haven’t been back since, I believe, our album tour of 2019 with EyeHateGod. Every time we get over west, the shows really light up—crowds get super involved—and this Spliffs & Riffs Fest line-up is sick. The west is always off tap. Then we felt like, let’s go hit some regional areas. We often get requests to come through and play more of these types of shows, so this run we’re hitting some smaller towns and a few places we’ve never been to before, which we’re super pumped for. Plus, we have this slammin’ new tune that’s fully designed to get the crowds moving, so we’re super keen to get out and tear it up. So keen!”
