Interview: Luke Petty
Texan titans MEMPHIS MAY FIRE will be making their long-awaited return to Australia with ATREYU to help them celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Curse this July!
Marking their first appearance down under in over a decade since touring with Parkway Drive in 2015. Known for their electrifying live performances, MMF have a unique ability to forge a deep connection with their audience, creating an intense, unified experience where band and crowd become a single, pulsating entity. As described by Insomniac, their shows are “a sonic confessional,” confronting the struggles many face and challenging the darkness with a fierce call toward hard-earned triumph.
The Everblack Podcast caught up with Matty Mullins from Memphis May Fire to talk about their new album Shapeshifter and upcoming Australian Tour with Atreyu.

Formed in 2006 in Dallas, Texas. Memphis May Fire have built a strong reputation within the metalcore and post-hardcore scenes, known for their powerful live performances, emotive lyrics, and blending of metalcore with elements of hard rock, post-hardcore, and melodic metal.
The band’s lineup has gone through several changes over the years, but it is led by Matty Mullins, whose distinctive clean and unclean vocal style has become a signature of Memphis May Fire’s sound. Their music often tackles personal struggles, mental health, and overcoming adversity, which resonates strongly with their fanbase.
