The name Cavalera is deeply embedded in the history of heavy metal, representing a powerful family legacy of musical aggression that dates back to 1984 in Brazil with Sepultura. In recent years, Max and Iggor Cavalera have revisited their early works—Morbid Visions, Bestial Devastation, and Schizophrenia—re-recording these seminal albums for Nuclear Blast Records.
The re-imagined versions capture a fresh intensity while still preserving the raw, youthful energy and signature sounds that made these releases iconic. In January 2025, Max and Iggor will bring these groundbreaking tracks to Australia, marking another milestone in their relentless dedication to extreme metal and further cementing their influence on both the death and thrash metal genres.
The Everblack Podcast caught up with Max Cavalera to talk about the upcoming Third World Trilogy Australian tour, re-recording the early material and its influence on new bands, the importance of family and his worldwide ‘Tribe’, finding riff inspirations in the Arizona desert and more!

Joining them on all dates will be the quickly rising Algor Mortis, who have been spewing forth a nasty amalgamation of brutal death metal and beatdown hardcore from the guts of Melbourne’s underground that culminated in 2023’s Stages of Death, a powerful and guttural offering that saw the band quickly signed to the cult US death metal label Maggot Stomp.
You won’t want to miss this once in a lifetime experience of rejuvenated extreme metal history.
