Brisbane alternative metal outfit Headwreck share their scathing new tune LOW BLOW! off the back of their recent tour announcement, supporting Windwaker, Thousand Below (US) and Diamond Construct across Australia in February 2025. Tickets on sale now via Destroy All Lines.
A weighty mix of chaos, aggression and pummelling heavy moments, LOW BLOW! doesn’t waste any time with its brief 2 minute 20 runtime, and is Headwreck at their angriest. “LOW BLOW! is about that person that’s gonna get what’s coming to them”, says the band. “They threw some cheap shots and it’s only matter of time until it comes back to hit them.”
Their second single of the year, LOW BLOW! shares a darker side to Headwreck and further teases at a larger release slated for next year, produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Lalic (Windwaker, The Last Martyr, RinRin) . Their new collection drops the ‘tough guy’ act and sees Headwreck embrace their most genuine and goofy selves both sonically and visually, enjoying the music they make and the bonds they’ve created. LOW BLOW! follows Buzzsaw, which released in August and has already become the band’s highest streamed song to date – it was coined one of Metal Hammer‘s ‘Tracks Of The Week’, the video was featured on Rage as the Wild One and was spun on national television on a Channel 7 Friday night Football game.
Buzzsaw was Headwreck’s first single since last year’s sophomore EP, ‘Reflection Room‘. The EP told a series of stories based around human connection, with each song conveying a different situation. ‘Reflection Room’ expanded on the ideas presented on the debut 2021 EP ‘Glamorise Demise’, amplifying richer instrumentals, heavier electronics and experimenting with more diversity across both the clean and unclean vocals.

Headwreck paved their way with their eclectic sound and performance, combining melodic hardcore and electronic influences mixed with well-written, pop inspired hooks and lyrical content. Since their inception they’ve secured a place as Unearthed feature artist, had numerous plays across multiple triple j programs and community radio, featured on editorial playlists on both Spotify and Apple Music and have sold out their own headliners. They’ve played shows with the likes of We Came As Romans (US) and Invent Animate (US), Story Of The Year (US), Paledusk (JPN), Thornhill, Stepson, Inertia and more and have embarked on multiple tours across the nation.
Don’t miss Headwreck touring Australia in February. LOW BLOW! is available now and streaming everywhere.
