Monolith Festival is right around the corner now, with the prog-metal lineup set to light up stages across Australia from November 5th. Adding to the list of incredible sideshows announced for the tour is a pair of headline shows in the Gold Coast and Melbourne for French metal outfit Novelists, marking the band’s first shows on Australian soil.
Cementing their sound over 4 critically acclaimed LPs (‘Souvenirs’ (2015); ‘Noir’ (2017). ‘C’est La Vie’ (2020) & ‘Déja-Vu’ (2022); the band have become known for their unique fusion of metalcore, djent and progressive metal since forming in 2013. Sonically characterised by intricate guitar work, poignant lyrics and an innate ability to shift effortlessly between melodic and aggressive passages, Novelists have taken the alternative music scene by storm.
2023 marked a new era for the band with the addition of vocalist Camille Contreras, solidifying their status as a respected and influential force in the contemporary metal scene.
The French 5-piece will be playing at Vinnies Dive Bar in the Gold Coast on the 5th of November, and Stay Gold in Melbourne on the 6th. The band will also be joining the full festival lineup in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne alongside Coheed & Cambria, Periphery, Leprous, Intervals & Silver Fang.
