and lyrics. His consistently high-paced delivery helps drive the song, and how cleanly he
transitions from low lines to high vocal lines makes it super memorable.
#2 Travis Ryan (Cattle Decapitation) – Always pushing the envelope and bringing something fresh to the table. He’s
the first vocalist I can recall doing the tunnel-throat zombie screams. Along with his “clean
singing,” which he started doing since The Harvest Floor, his great melody and the way he
makes me picture a decrepit witch is something I really admire.
#3 Corpsegrinder (Cannibal Corpse) – The dude just sounds so pissed off and has some of the best delivery and
patterns, along with a stage presence to match. To be in the game for so long and still crushing
it is admirable.
#4 Phil Bozeman (White Chapel) – He made quite the impression on me as a teenager with his mid-range
being super powerful, and his lows sounding so cavernous. He also writes some catchy vocal
hooks that are simple but get stuck in your head easily. I’m also glad he’s doing more high
vocals in his recent material.
#5 Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir) – Such a creepy and narrative-style vocal that’s very immersive and works so well
with the music. It’s almost to the point where you forget he’s singing and not just telling you tales
because he sounds so relaxed and natural in his delivery.
Allocer have been toiling away on their craft in the West for some time now, and we feel this is a band just bursting at the seams, ready to take over the Australian metal scene and beyond. With previous releases such as the single “Crimson Countess” and their first EP, “The First Offering”, already pulling plenty of attention their way, the band continues to prove what a powerhouse they are—following up each release with even more music that pushes the boundaries of the heavy realm.
