PRICEY returns with Aussie rock classic ‘BASTARDS NEVER CHANGE’

Ex-Chats guitarist Pricey has today released his latest single ‘Bastards Never Change’, an infectious rock tune that boasts true-blue grit and some undeniably catchy chorus melodies.

Pricey has been busy of late – rubbing shoulders with the likes of The Screaming Jets, The Bennies, Gooch Palms and more on the road, treating his ever-growing fanbase to lively shows and endless sing-alongs. During his time supporting The Screaming Jets on their national tour, Pricey found the lyrical inspiration for ‘Bastards Never Change’; a track that acts as a reminder to take notice of the life you’re living, and realise things could always be worse.

The song came about during a recent tour with The Screaming Jets. As we travelled from venue to venue, I found myself gazing out the bus window when I noticed a homeless man holding a cup. In that moment, I didn’t just see him. I saw my reflection. It struck me how lucky I am to be living my dream, touring with a rock band, having fun, and doing what I love.

This song isn’t about that man, it’s about me appreciating the blessings I have and recognizing the stark contrast of our lives. “Bastards Never Change” is my way of expressing gratitude and resilience, inviting listeners to reflect on their own journeys.

JOSH ‘PRICEY’ PRICE

As a founding member, songwriter and ex-guitarist of The Chats, Pricey exploded onto the scene in the late 2010’s – touring the world with the band, supporting the likes of Iggy Pop, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Offspring and more during his tenure. Since leaving the band to focus on his solo career in 2022, Pricey has been making a name for himself with his debut record ‘On The Job’ (2022) and a string of successful singles since.

With 250K+ streams across his discography (including 100k for 2022 single ‘Big Sky’ alone), Pricey has been met with praise from the industry and fans alike. He’ll be celebrating the release of ‘Bastards Never Change’ with 3 dates in NSW starting this week – and has recently announced a tour supporting legendary US band Wheatus across the country in January and February next year.
