Today, Naarm Aboriginal led indie punk band Chasing Ghosts, release their new single / video Ten Feet Tall.
Produced by ARIA nominated producer Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Redhook, Yours Truly, Sleeping With Sirens) and mixed by James Paul Wisner (Paramore, Underoath), Ten Feet Tall continues on where previous single Amnesia Everybody left off. Chest-pounding moments of vocal delivery match the musicality of Chasing Ghosts as a unit; where frontman Jimmy Kyle powers forward with introspective lyricism detailing his first ventures into therapy.
“Ten Feet Tall was inspired by the first conversations with my psychologist as my life was turned upside down; the fallout of a failed relationship spurred me to turn to therapy for the first time. The sense of personal failure felt totally overwhelming, beating on myself harshly and unnecessarily. My insomnia had gotten worse, and I had finally decided therapy was a must. As a society, it is critical that we normalise mental health issues and encourage others to seek professional support when they’re struggling, and this song is my contribution to that mission.”
Chasing Ghosts head off next week on the Amnesia Everybody tour, which sees the band playing three headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Joining Chasing Ghosts on all dates is Naarm’s very own MUDRAT. Opening acts on all shows have been announced, with Cheap Date in Meanjin, Desert Runner in Gadi and Oh Daisy in Naarm.
