Brisbane alternative metal outfit Headwreck return as their most authentic selves with chaotic new single Buzzsaw.

The punchy new track contrasts the light with the dark, representing two entities trapped in a back and forth cycle, where the harsh and clean vocals are either side of a conversation on betrayal. Produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Lalic (Windwaker), the single journeys through highs and lows with a groovy industrial backbone that drives the single through moments of aggression and passion, broken up by soaring peaks of clarity. Buzzsaw moves through cleverly articulated musical moments that amplify the glitch-heavy chaos that has become synonymous with Headwreck.

The single is visualised by a music video created in-house by drummer and videographer Colby Horton. The clip drops the ‘tough guy’ act and shows Headwreck as their most genuine and goofy selves, enjoying the music they make and the bonds they’ve created. Watch it here.

Buzzsaw is Headwreck’s first single since last year’s sophomore EP, Reflection Room‘. The EP told a series of stories based around human connection, with each song conveying a different situation. ‘Reflection Room’ expanded on the ideas presented on the debut 2021 EP ‘Glamorise Demise’, amplifying richer instrumentals, heavier electronics and experimenting with more diversity across both the clean and unclean vocals.

Headwreck is Connor Hickman (vocals), Jamo Benadie (guitar/vocals), Colby Horton (drums) and Dayne Paix (bass). The band is a collaborative effort of four likeminded individuals striving to carve their own unique mark in the Australian alternative music community.

Headwreck paved their way with their eclectic sound and performance, combining melodic hardcore and electronic influences mixed with well-written, pop inspired hooks and lyrical content. Since their inception they’ve secured a place as Unearthed feature artist, had numerous plays across multiple triple j programs and community radio, featured on editorial playlists on both Spotify and Apple Music and have sold out their own headliners. They’ve played shows with the likes of We Came As Romans (US) and Invent Animate (US), Story Of The Year (US), Paledusk (JPN), WindwakerThornhillStepsonInertia and more and have toured across the nation respectively with Alera and Days Like These.

Buzzsaw sees Headwreck embark on a fresh new journey as no one but themselves. Buzzsaw is available now and streaming everywhere.
