Gold Coast rockers and On The Map faves, CHAVEZ CARTEL are back at it again, sharing with us a moody and edgy new tune Midnight Skies, the forth and final taste from their forthcoming EP Man’s Best Friend out May 5. Midnight Skies is filled with swirling textures, affable beats and crisp guitars, it has a swagger that cements Chavez Cartel as overlords of dark brooding swampy music
Man’s Best Friend, the band’s third EP release, features the singles Dead Weekend, Coming Around, the title track Man’s Best Friend. and Midnight Skies. It’s a striking EP, dark, unique and ambitious, with themes of trauma, pain, strength and positivity played though blues infused alt-rock.
And these legends are not only making waves here in AUS, but they’re also smashing it overseas (check out this grab on BBC Radio Introducing Saturday) they are just about to hit the road over in the UK to play THE GREAT ESCAPE FESTIVAL among other shows (epic run of dates below), before heading back home to play the Moondoll Festival in Brisbane on June 3.
